The University of Washington-based team, led by Dr. Jessica Vandenberg and Dr. Yoshitaka Ota, includes 31 total contributors spanning 9 countries and worked with local Seattle artist Mari Shibuya.
With a budget of $1.5 million contributed by the Nippon Foundation, the Ocean Nexus Marine Plastic Pollution Project brings together an international group of interdisciplinary scholars and practitioners whose work centers equity and justice.
