William Kammin is a Research Fellow completing his Masters of Marine Affairs in the School of Marine and Environmental Affairs. He completed his undergraduate degree in oceanography and fisheries science at the University of Washington. His professional experience was as Quality Control manager in the Alaskan salmon industry working on environmental regulatory compliance and seafood safety. Additionally, he worked as a fisheries observer for NOAA in the Bering Sea, Aleutian Island region for the NMFS North Pacific Groundfish Observer Program. After encountering inequities in these industries he is researching offshore energy systems and how new energy projects can provide equity within the blue economy. With a focus on the offshore wind value chain and regulatory processes, Will hopes to contribute to equitable policy for the Pacific states and accelerate offshore wind development.
