Randa, is a PhD candidate at ANCORS, UOW Australia. Her PhD titled, “Ocean Stories for Ocean Governance,” explores the relationship between narrative, knowledge, and ocean governance. Her focus is on how these elements shape our perception and management of the oceans and marine life. With a background in law, Randa uses storytelling to advocate for ocean policy. She seeks powerful stories that motivate action and inform policies to bring about positive change.

Randa spends her time between her family (her husband, two children, a dog, a cat and two chickens) and extended family, gardening and enjoying walks in the escarpment and beaches of Wollongong. She plays the violin in the local community orchestra. Quiet moments are spent sipping coffee and writing.
