Prakriti Shah is a lawyer and researcher with experience in environmental and human rights litigation and research in both India and the United States. During her legal practice in India, she worked on environmental justice cases, including a public interest petition advocating for access to water in a Mumbai slum and a legal challenge to development on wetlands. She holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in International and Comparative Law, with a concentration in Human Rights, from The George Washington University Law School and a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from University of Mumbai.

 

Prakriti is passionate about advancing legal and policy solutions at the intersection of human rights and environmental governance, with a particular interest in ocean equity and justice. Her research and professional experience span a range of international and domestic environmental issues, including climate migration, marine plastic pollution, and Indigenous rights.

 

Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, reading fiction, spending time in nature, and baking.
