Oliver Tiliouine is a PhD Candidate in the Department of Marine Affairs at the University of Rhode Island. He earned a BSc in Geography from University College London in 2019 with his dissertation focusing on fisheries trends and a critical analysis of fisheries management within the Bay of Ranobe, Madagascar. Following his undergraduate studies Oliver completed his masters in Climate Science and Policy at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography. During his masters course he started his dissertation project for his PhD program. This work addresses uncertainties in the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, and equity shortcomings in the broader global ocean governance regime, related to sea-level rise and maritime zones of jurisdiction. He is interested in and always engaged with work that seeks to make the world a better place for as many people as possible. In his free time, Oliver enjoys following and playing football and tennis, getting out snorkelling or diving and cooking vegetarian food.
