Dr. Michael Fabinyi is an Associate Professor at the Climate, Society and Environment Research Centre at the University of Technology Sydney. His research interests are focused on coastal livelihoods and their interactions with broader processes of economic and social change. He completed his PhD at the Australian National University (2009), and from 2010-2016 worked at the Australian Research Council Centre of Excellence for Coral Reef Studies, James Cook University. He has lived and worked in China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Papua New Guinea, the Philippines and Solomon Islands.
