Luke Hiserman

Luke Hiserman is a master’s student in the School of Marine and Environmental Affairs at the University of Washington. He collaborated on a project seeking to understand marine affairs student perspectives on dealing with COVID-19 related education restrictions. Luke is involved in an ongoing community engagement project working with an Indigenous community to co-create digital story workshops with community members that allow Indigenous youth to explore personal narratives through multi-media. Prior to graduate school, Luke interned in two separate marine biology labs, one lab studying Pacific blue and yellowfin tuna, and the other shellfish in the Saint Lawrence. He also assisted on drafting an updated management plan for the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary. Luke earned a bachelor’s degree from Willamette University in Environmental Science.
Luke enjoys playing tennis, kayaking, and spending time with friends and family.
