Jillian Conrad was born and raised in Nova Scotia and recently completed her Bachelor of Science (Honours) in biology/biotechnology at Queen’s University. During her undergraduate degree, Jillian explored her passion for marine science through her independent research on adaptive food selection across various marine species in Varadero, Cuba. Professionally, serves in the Royal Canadian Navy as a reservist boatswain. Through the military, she focuses on reducing marine pollution as the acting Health and Safety Boatswain Department Representative. Jillian is interested in international fisheries policy and conservation management. Through her master’s degree, she hopes to assess progress within the WTO fisheries subsidy negotiations and explore the role of science within policy development.
