Felix is a social scientist interested in the political economy of natural resource governance and development, with an emphasis on how interactions among local level actors and institutions are influenced by, and connected to, national and global level actors, institutions, policies, and processes. Felix is a Senior Research Associate in the Political Ecology group at Lancaster University’s Environment Centre, where he works with Professor Christina Hicks on the finance and governance of fisheries in West Africa. Prior to joining Lancaster, he worked as Extractives Sector Specialist at the World Bank. He gained his PhD in 2014 from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS). The geographic interest of Felix’s research is West Africa, with particular focus on Liberia, Mauritania, Senegal, Sierra Leone, and the Gambia.
